October Hearts of the West Blog Hop

I'm so happy to share with you all today!  This past month has been a bit hectic with a few different things and I'm finally able to calm it all down and get back to what makes me happy!  Creating scrapbook layouts and cards!!

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my hearts Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The hearts of the west was founded by Nancy Klein.
This months challenge is Scaredy Cat paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Linda's then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

So this month we had to use the Scardy Cat collection!  I love this because all though I don't get to do much for Halloween, I love the holiday!  I was never one to dress up drastically though, I kept my costumes pretty basic.  I was a punk rocker a few years in a row (gotta love the 80s right!), a witch, a clown and one year I was even a die.  Might have been better to have a second person so that we could have been a pair of dice, but all in all, it was a good one!  So yeah, even though I don't have kids to dress up and take out trick or treating, I still love the holiday!

I decided to take the paper and make a couple pages to add to my Great Neice's album!  I took black cardstock as my bases and built up from there.  I went through all the different How To books and settled on one from the Reflections book called Title Topper - Heading.  I then decided to use a second one like it from the alternate selections and flipped it upside down.

I love the orange and the polka dot paper, so I used those as my accent pieces.  I then used Slate cardstock for my photo frames.  But how can you not bring that Thistle colour to the forefront!  I went through my stash and found my retired Irresistibles Eclectic Die-Cut letters and coloured them with Thistle for my title.  I dug through my stash and found my retired Midnight Felt Shapes that I've been holding on to for the perfect layout!  Then to finish it all off, I took some Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon to just bring the two pages together.

I'm still wanting to add 2014 to this page.  I can't wait to add the pictures to see how it all comes together!

And what I loved most?  I spent 3 and a half days rearranging my scrapbook room and organizing the items in it!  If I hadn't done that, I never would have been able to put together these pages as quickly as I did!

Well I hope you have enjoyed your stop here and that you continue along to the rest of the fantastic projects showcased in this hop!  Your next stop is Sonia.
Thanks for joining us this month and come back next month to see what crafty projects we can bring to you! Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment.

Happy Halloween!
