This card kit was so much fun! I love the colors and the cherries and pie! The sentiments are so much fun as well! "You bake my day." and "I love you Cherry much." Just love it!

I've been noticing that I've been spending more of my time creating cards. I love being able to give a hand made card to brighten someone's day!

Until next time, happy creating!

Back at Christmas I made these cards using the absolutely gorgeous Serenity paper! This was a one sheet wonder, meaning that I used just one sheet of pattern paper for these cards. I paired them with the blue belle shimmer trim and one of my favorite stamps for the hot chocolate cups. I love that there is just a pop of red in these with the candy cane!

As you can see, each card is completely different from each other but they all tie together. This style of card technique really makes you think outside the box when embellishing! I'll be recreating these and others using different pattern papers!

Until next time, happy creating!

I had so much fun creating these cards for my Oxide Club kit! Each kit will teach a different technique and feature some cards using those techniques. This kit used the blending of two colors and then the smooshing technique to show that you don't have to waste any of that ink. If you'd like to get your own kit, please give me a shout.

Distress oxides and this butterfly thin cut look so good together. I used mustard seed and spiced marmalade for the background on this one. It give such a happy feel to it!

With this one, I used the same distress oxides, grabbed some of the cutouts from the butterfly thin cut and used one of the butterfly thin cuts from the You Are Enough collection. Just a simple butterfly cut out gives such a powerful image with the distress oxide background.

Have you done the smooshing technique with distress oxides? I love the effect it gives when you add some water! And one of the best things, you will always get a different look from it!

This sunburst thin cut over the distress oxide background and add in some Sunbeam holographic paper to give it just that little bit more of flash! This background has the addition of abandoned coral to give it just a bit more of those pink hues in the sunsets or sunrises!

Well, until next time, happy creating!

Goodness! The entire month of June went by so quickly!! I created and I hid from the heat wave that happened near the end of June. There was no way I could craft during that time. My home doesn't have air conditioning and we were reaching temps of almost 40C. I absolutely love the heat, but when you don't have AC, it gets to be a bit much cause you can't seem to do anything!

This card I made before the heat wave hit. I absolutely love this butterfly thin cut!! And paired with the Sunbeam Holographic paper and black ore paper ... GORGEOUS! There is no wrong color combination with this thin cut and have already made a couple more cards with it!

I had fun creating this layout. Sunflowers and cowboy boots, you can't go wrong! I love the hint of Desert Rose in this pairing. It just seems to draw everything together in a way you didn't know you needed!

But I promise that I won't let this much time go by between posts! I've been working on a few projects and can't wait to share as they are each complete. So until next time happy creating!

I learned a really fun technique from a fellow CTMH Maker name Laura Beacham and fell absolutely in LOVE!! I had to rush right in to my craft room when I seen it and pulled out some pattern paper and cardstock. This weaving technique makes so a gorgeous background. I cut out a doily with my thin cuts, stamps the fun flower image and colored it with my spectrum noir tri-blend markers and VOILA! I love it!

Well then the next morning I had to try it using some scraps of the You Are Enough paper. I thought my first attempt was going to be my trial and error card but there definitely wasn't any trial and error involved. I pulled out the butterfly thin cuts, some vellum, and oh my goodness! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

I haven't been back in to create but I have plans to create many more of these designs! Happy creating!

Eek!

I'm in love with gnomes! I created a fun Christmas card using the Gnome for Christmas stamp and thin cuts! Throw in some coloring with the spectrum noir tri-blend markers and ... voila!

I'm sorry, but how fun are the Kitchen Gnomes! Fun to color and use on scrapbooking pages and cards!

This Kitchen Gnome so reminds me of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets! I can just see the cartoon from my childhood. Oh the memories!

Happy creating!

Hi again!

During the summer last year I had a lot of fun with colors! I learned the Bargello technique. I used just regular ink pads and sponges to create the background effect. I believe there was 5 different greens used on it!

The foliage was just stamped with Staz On ink. I colored the bird and flowers with the spectrum noir tri-blend markers. Then of course had to add some bling with the itty bitty's!

Each background turns out different! It's one of the great things about this technique! The sizes you cut your strips also make it so that each card is different as well!

So believe in miracles all!

 Say what?

I've let too much time go by since my last post! I haven't been too creative these past weeks, I seem to have lost my mojo and my day job seems to have taken over even outside of work hours. I do plan to step back a bit and work on some things for myself. I want to finish some of the projects I started that were for me, that kind of get pushed to the side at times. In the mean time I'll share some images of some items I've made over the past year!

This is one of my favorites! It's a watercolor wash on the background and a powerful message that everyone should keep in the forefront of their minds! "You are powerful, brilliant, beautiful, and brave. You are stronger than you think. You are amazing just the way you are. You are loved, always. You are enough!"

This one was fun because I used distress oxides for the sunset, moon dust stickles glitter gel for the clouds and coloring with the spectrum noir tri-blend markers! Each time I color I learn more blending techniques!

Well happy crafting to you all!

I need to share these with you! This gorgeous paper pack and coordinating cardstock is coming in just a few days! It's called "You Are Enough".

This special also has really fun holographic butterfly embellishments as well as the layer butterfly thin cuts.

This kit was created by a very talented CTMH Maker, Chelsey Vorosmarty. I made a couple minor changes to the kit when I created it.

All I can say about this paper is ... I LOVE IT!!

Happiest Place ... it was a super fun paper pack to play with! The silver foil cardstock to the glossy embellishments, it all went together so well! These pages were designed by a fellow CTMH Maker created the guide and I needed it to use in one of my three Disney trips ... LOL

I just have to put in my photos now!! And I'm hoping that I can go back to Disneyland or Disney World some time soon!!

Till next time!

I spent a few months playing with a new product to me! It is by far not a new product to the world, but I hadn't played with them before! And let me tell you, it's opened a whole new world for me!

Close To My Heart started carrying the Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and it changed my world! I've been having so much fun creating backgrounds for cards! This one I love because I used a thin cut on just plain black cardstock to make the background pop! It's still one of my favourites to this day!

Chat with you soon!

Back in May of 2020 Close To My Heart released a super fun bundle! It was a great card kit to make some fun cards to play on the pandemic. The play on the toilet paper and the sanitizer still stand true today and this fun stamp set was re-released for the Stamptacular sale going on during the month of April. I love that we get to play with stamp set some more! Not that we're still in the pandemic but the fact that we can make so many more fun cards with this!

Stay tuned for some new cards with this stamp set coming soon!

2021! Umm ... Where did the time go?

So a few years back I had great ideas and plans to revitalize my blog and share my creations, but I truly don't know what happened. I know life got somewhat crazy and then of course the time goes by and the next thing you know, here we are, in 2021!

2020 was a very interesting year. My day job brought me to working at home. It has given me more time to be creating as I now share my crafting space with my daytime office. I make sure that I keep my daytime work off my crafting desk so as to not kill the mojo there! Silly I know but still something I can't bring myself to do ... LOL! I do bring my crafting work to my office desk, but to be fair, my office desk was originally part of my crafting space.

I've stepped more out of my comfort zone and I now host online club nights! We used to get together once a month in a community hall, but now we all connect through Zoom! It has been a lifeline for me at times! It doesn't stop there. I hosted my first virtual retreat back in May 2020. It was a two day event filled with games and live video's teaching how to create some fun projects. We get together weekly for Virtual Coffee and Conversation as well! On this night, anyone can pop in and create and chat. I have to admit that I spend more of those nights chatting than creating!

But throughout all this crazy, I've been creating and I've been loving life! So here's to 2021!

Catch you on the flip side!
