Snowhaven - Hearts of the West Blog Hop

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close To My Hearts consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The Hearts of the West team was founded by Nancy Klein.

This months challenge is the Snowhaven paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Freya Hall Dunbar's blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

I apologize in advance, this post is going to be lengthy and picture intensive!

Snowhaven X7188B was definitely not my favorite when I saw it in the Annual Inspirations, but it has grown on me.  I was put to the task to design a Workshop with this paper pack and the Snowhaven Complements X7188C.  I mulled this paper for a couple weeks and had a friend pick a stamp set to include in the workshop.  That stamp set was Best Christmas Holiday D1613, and I have to say, that it wasn't one of my favorites either.  But boy am I glad that these were put together!

I was visiting with a friend and fellow consultant, Janet McCormick, and she was showing me some of her fabulous layouts from her Disney World 2013 album.  There were these INCREDIBLE layouts with a MASSIVE amount of flip flaps and I was stunned!  I couldn't believe that you could incorperate so many on a page.  So off my mind went running with idea's to include these in my workshop.  I've definitely accomplished that feat!

I joined Close To My Heart in May 2011 and included with my kit was a fantastic workshop called You & Me.  It was the first kit that I put together and I was hooked!  I have to admit that part of my reasoning for signing up was that CTMH had kits, but this one was so fun to do.  Well I dug out that guide and sat and struggled!  The one paper was throwing me completely off!  I refer to it as the "UGLY SWEATER" paper!  I'm sorry, but that is what it reminds me of!

I got past that and started working!  I used the Whisper X5929 cardstock and the snowflakes from the stamp set and I random stamped a background in Whisper ink Z2172.

I then started placing my papers and flip flaps on the cardstock.  I used three 4x6 flip flaps Z4114 on the first two page layout.

I took what was a three picture layout and made it so you could have up to a maximum of nine 4x6 pictures.  The compliments I started placing as I saw what started to turn out to be one of my absolute favorite layouts!

I'm so happy with the way that it turned out!  And you know what?  I'm in love with that "UGLY SWEATER" paper now!!  I finished it off with the Cranberry 1272 cardstock for photo mats.

Next I set out to accomplish a second two page layout, because remember, this is going to be my Snowhaven WOTG for my club ladies in January.

Again I wanted to showcase our flip flaps, so I knew those were going to be incorporated in this set of pages.  I used the Glacier X5770 cardstock as the base for these. I used a 6x6 flip flap Z1726 on one page and two 4x6 on the second page.

Now I meant to grab Cranberry as the photo mats again, but I accidently chose Ruby X5927.  That is ok as it still goes well with this paper pack.  I used a couple more of the Snowhaven compliments to round out the pages.

I broke out the Cricut and the Artbooking cartridge to cut out my title.
